Simple breakfasts

When Erik was home with me the first week with Juliet, breakfast was my favorite meal. We would hold our baby while we ate in our favorite nook in the kitchen and she slept in the quiet morning hours. The last day before Erik went back to work he volunteered to make breakfast and surprised me with that beautiful plate filled with bacon, eggs, an english muffin and fruit. I ate the entire plate.  Have I mentioned how ravenous breastfeeding makes me?  I wasn't prepared for that!

This evening a few girlfriends are bringing over dinner.  I'm going to have my first glass of wine!

Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Congrats on the adorable little girl. I am sure you are going to have so many new and wonderful experiences with your new addition--so sweet!! Just one thing, I know you mentioned the wine..please just remember whatever you eat, she eats if your bfeeding. Even if many many hours pass before the feeding & wine is consumed.

  3. Congrats again on your beautiful little darling! I personally love that you share personal details about your life alongside recipes and party ideas :) I laughed out loud at the comment about breastfeeding making you ravenous, because it's so true! I could not eat enough to feel full, ever, the first few weeks of breastfeeding! Unfortunately that only lasted a few weeks and then I had to watch what I was eating like everyone else :) Have fun tonight!

  4. I was starving for the first 6 months after my daughter was born. It was insane! Sometimes I am still overcome with hunger pains at 9 months post partum! And ignore the above comment. A glass of wine is perfectly fine. So is two! ;)
