{Photo credit: Megan Gordon / The Kitchn)It's Thursday which means this evening no technology is allowed in my house (for background on that, read here). Erik and I have a fun night planned that includes making dinner, drinking wine and playing Yahtzee. We are making this goat cheese and swiss chard pasta I found on The Kitchn.
I'd like to try something new today...I want to ask you, dear readers, if you stop by Eat Drink Pretty today to leave a comment. I'd love to get to know you all better! If you are a regular commenter, thank you so much! Your comments and feedback help feed this blog and my passion for it. And all readers, whether you comment or not...THANK YOU!
If you have time, I would so appreciate a comment today, we can call it "come out of lurking" day. Hmmm, or maybe we won't call it that, kinda cheesy.
Comment ideas:
- What you're having for dinner
- Your favorite meal (would love if you included a link to a recipe!)
- Just say hello and introduce yourself!
I look forward to your comments! Have a wonderful Thursday!

Tonight I will be making a Tuscan flatbread pizza. Topped with spicy cheeses, marinated red peppers, and my favorite brooklyn pizza sauce.
ReplyDeletejust to de-lurk here.. I'm from Singapore and I love your blog for its fresh (and gorgeous) approach in presenting food, and for not being just a blind recap of what you ate all day long. So thanks for that :)
ReplyDeletelooks delicious! I'm from picnics and pantries and I'm looking forward to chickpea and carrot soup tonight, but I'm looking forward to trying something like this soon! :)
ReplyDeleteGoat cheese AND pasta? LOVE! Can't wait to hear how it tastes!
ReplyDeleteI have a question...do you ever find yourself altering recipes or ingredients? Making substitutes or adding things? I rarely make a recipe exactly the way it's written. Since you cook/bake so much, I'd be curious to know if you do the same!
Looks fabulous! I'm a HUGE fan of goat cheese, but only have it on occasion, and this looks like a recipe worth splurging for ;)
ReplyDeleteAlso, such a great idea about no technology Thursdays. We have a rule of no technology after dinner. Plus, "blue light" from technology can keep you awake longer, so it's nice way to wind down :)
Last night we had pesto risotto (with homemade pesto, so easy!) and tonight we're having red lentil pilaf with veggies! (I'm a (mostly) ovo-veggie, and my carnivore husband is very tolerant, ha!)
I've followed you for a while now, but I honestly can't say if I've ever commented...but since you asked, I'm Joelle and I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteTonight is going to be an easy meal night {tacos}, but I'm definitely going to have to try this in the future.
xoxo,
Joelle

hi my dear! i've been following eat drink pretty for quite some time but i'm not sure i've ever commented, so i'm glad you suggested it! you've got great recipes and ideas, in fact i'm saving this one for the near future!
ReplyDeletebest wishes!
xo. di.
Last night, I made chicken-fried steak (recipe adapted from The Pioneer Woman) with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was delicious. Tonight - who knows, maybe sandwiches made from the leftovers - we are going on a drive through the country so we'll need something we can take along for the ride!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to try this but not tonight, my co-workers are throwing me a farewell happy hour at bonfire. I think I'll have to make some sort of meat side for Jason, I don't think he'll go for a vegetarian night.

Okay, so I'm obsessed with that idea. No technology allowed. I really really love it. And that pasta looks AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I've ever commented bc i normally view your blog in Google reader:)
But my favorite meal is my grandmothers pot roast! Food is wonderful in that it brings back wonderful memories!
Hi! I'm a "lurker," haha....your blogs is one of my faves. I am so excited that you posted this recipe today because I have a vegetarian friend coming over for dinner tonight and I had no idea what to cook. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and get a lot of ideas for parties. I love the simple Eat.Drink.Pretty of it. It is so fun to make things delicious and look fab. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWell, hello!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have pasta with a ground turkey sauce (leftovers from last night when I had enough time to cook-something that rarely happens!)
I found your blog when I was Googling the St. Paul Farmer's Market (my absolute favorite activity of the summer, especially the $5 flowers!), after I found your post I was hooked–it's so nice to have a great blog from MN! AAaand, on top of things, when you posted a picture of your sister's wedding festivities I realized that we must be from the same hometown because I think I graduated high school with her! Craziness...
Anywho, I'll stop rambling...
I may be making goat cheese and swiss chard pasta tonight. It looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteI am a lurker and wanted to say hi. You and I both took Michelle's photography class last spring around this time and I am also a food blogger.... Twin Cities Restaurant Blog.
ReplyDeleteLove your recipes and party ideas!
Don't remember how I found you, but I'm a fan of most of the recipes. :) And one of my best friends lives in Minnesota (awomaninherthirties.com) so I like following another blogger from there!
ReplyDeleteI love all the comments you're getting from lurkers! Maybe Thursday should be anti-lurker day at EDP - you must comment! :) I'll probably cook a yummy dinner on Sunday night to rev up for the week - maybe crab legs since those are one of our favorites (from Costco - so good and affordable!). We also usually pair them with a baked potato - yum! Enjoy your low-key night with Erik.
ReplyDeleteI just saw a blog post from Tasty Kitchen for a chicken casserole that I can't get out of my head. I'm pretty sure that might be my dinner tonight!
ReplyDeletelove your blog!
ReplyDeletewe are having a big salad tonight (boring right?!?) because we have eaten out way too much lately! I am definitely going to be trying this pasta. Looks delish!
Hello There!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cassie, that Tasty Kitchen casserole looks amazing...but I just wanted to let you know that I made your buffalo chicken dip, and it is by far my most requested recipe now. Delicious.
Thanks for convincing me to come out of lurking :P
I am LOVING all the comments and seeing some new commenters. Thank you all so much! Keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeleteAshley T - to answer your question, if I am trying a new dish I tend to stay pretty close to the recipe, after I've made it a couple times I stray and add in my own touches. Sounds like you are super creative in the kitchen!
I love you!! HA HA... I read your post about techno free Thursday and laughed...that is so me and my hubby!! Great read and I shall fwd that post to him b/c we are both guilty of being too tech savvy for our own good. =)

Hello there lady! Love your blog, want that pasta, and wish my husband would agree to a no-tech day!
ReplyDeleteI'm making a new dinner tonight - not sure how it will be. Chicken in a tomato/pepper sauce cooking away in the crock pot at the moment. Fingers crossed it's edible!
I am pretty sure I haven't commented before, but I certainly love reading your blog. I like to cook when I can, and I love to throw a good party. Actually, the planning is often just as fun! :) Thanks for all of your great ideas and fun inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI'm a reader from Minneapolis. I like your local suggestions. Thanks for writing!
Hi! I just discovered your blog the other week and have become a daily reader. I just love it, the parties you show are terrific and so inspiring. It makes me want to entertain soon.
ReplyDeleteWe are having chicken, chickpea, and pesto salad for dinner this evening, although it is still winter out, I am in the mood for some lighter fare.
I just started a blog myself and every Friday I post the coming week's menu. A number of my friends wanted to be more organized about planning dinners and so I started the blog. If you ever need some dinner ideas please check me out (www.breakfastatmoms.blogspot.com)
I hope you enjoy your dinner!
I'm a lurker, but since you already know that it probably doesn't count, does it? Love you and your blog - and again, you already knew that too! xo
ReplyDeletethat looks SOOOO good! I will have to give that recipe a try! This winter has been so cold and I love a great pasta to keep warm!
ReplyDeleteThis just went on my menu for next week. I don't know yet what I'm having for dinner, but I am making a blackberry crisp for dessert! And that's what's important, right?
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and tonight I am making my favorite meal of potatoes and veggies baked in cheese sauce...mmmmm. I think my husband and I should also try a tech-free evening, it's such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a lurker, but I will comment anyway. I want that pasta! I love goat cheese! Tonight I'm just eating some soup and some veggies.
ReplyDeleteKatie
Another lurker!! I've read your blog for a little while now, and it never fails to inspire. I've never commented before, but will start now! Your pasta dish looks yummy! I can't wait to try it sometime. Tonight it was simple veggie soup for me
ReplyDeleteJust come across your blog, I live in Sydney Australia but am originally from the UK, tonight for dinner, which is actually tomorrow for you!! We are having crispy skinned trout, roasted vegetables and couscous...YUM!
ReplyDeleteDinner would be KFC. Or Buffalo wings. Hmmmmm...
