Local edition: giveaway for Bonfire on Grand gift certificate

Today's giveaway is for my lovely local (Minnesota) readers for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to Bonfire on Grand Avenue. I wish I could win my own giveaway!

Bonfire on Grand is an awesome restaurant that holds many special memories. My honey and I had our first "real" date at Bonfire and I can clearly remember all the details about the night; the table we sat at next to the fireplace and how cute he looked in the blue sweater he was wearing. We also had our rehearsal dinner at Bonfire and more than I can count nights drinking martinis and listening to dueling pianos.

Bonfire serves American and Southwestern cuisine and has some great specials throughout the week including:

- 1/2 price bottles of select wine every Monday
- 1/2 price house margaritas every Wednesday
- 1/2 price on all appetizers and pizzas Sunday-Friday 3-5:30pm
- $2 off all drinks Monday-Thursday 3-6pm and 9-close, Fridays from 3-6pm.

To enter the giveaway for a $50 Bonfire gift certificate comment on this post on one of the following:

- A favorite Bonfire memory
- A food/drink menu item you love or want to try

Entries close at 11:59pm CT on Sunday, January 31st and I will announce the winner on Monday. Good luck!

  1. I have a lot of favorite memories at Bonfire as it's one of the places my family likes to go for special occasions. One that sticks out in my mind though is the time my mom and I went there after I tried on wedding dresses. We don't go out just the two of us too often, so that coupled with the memory of trying on wedding dresses with my mom is something I'll always remember.-Maren

  2. Katie and I also had our first date at Bonfire on Grand, four years ago this March the 16th. We've enjoyed many evenings/nights there since then; most recently we stopped by for a round of shots between our wedding ceremony and reception.

  3. I just ran across your blog and I am excited to dive in and do some reading. :)

this looks like a great contest. We haven't been to Bonfire's but we'd love to give it a try...we live in Minneapolis, so when we go out we tend to stay on this side of the river (boo on that!). We love appetizers and especially artichoke dip, so an unoriginal as it sounds, the I'd love to try their artichoke dip as just the sound of it makes my mouth water!

  4. My friend mentioned your blog and with 2010 resolutions your blog will be put to great use!

Its kind of crazy the day I check out your blog is the day you have a bonfire contest! I love bonfire, actually my family loves bonfire. Our first son officially rolled over on his own yesterday and we needed to celebrate so we headed over to bonfire only the one near Plymouth and ate apps galore!! Funny how we were celebrating my son yet Mommy and Daddy got the "reward" ;)

  5. Ooh,I love Bonfire! Of course, my favorite memory there is probably your fabulous rehearsal dinner. The food, atmosphere, and decor at Christmas time was perfection all the way!! Plus, I love their gluten free enchiladas (I think that's still on the menu).

  6. Favorite memory: my aunt's 35th birthday, probably 10 of us. We let Bonfire know it was her birthday. So she got invited up to sit on top of the piano and a lovely song was played. Then they ask if she has a boyfriend…indeed he was there. So he got invited up. They have him get down and one knee…the rest of us thought maybe the boyfriend had plan this out and he was going to propose right in front of everyone…but alas it wasn’t so. However they did get engaged later that winter and had a beautiful wedding in Hawaii. Still lots of excitement for us 

  8. BONFIRE!!! Don't even get me started, this is my FAVORITE stop. Growing up, there was an Axels by our house way out in Loretto, MN. Loretto is a tiny town, and as a little girl I remember LOVING trips to Axel's Bonfire because it was so fancy! Now, there are 2 Bonfire's close to my home, and we go there as much as possible. A recent favorite memory would be a group trip to Bonfire on Grand celebrating my graduation from the U of M! My fiance is turning 30 soon, and now you've got me thinking Bonfire on Grand would be the perfect spot to celebrate! As far as the menu goes... how amazing does the butternut squash ravioli sound?!?!

  11. Easy! I love a flirtini and happy hour marguerita pizza. I had my work bridal shower at Bonfire which is one of my many favorite memories. I also had quite a few happy hours with one of my best friends here, so the memories of really intimate conversations are nice too.

  12. I usually get the purple people eater martini but the french kiss and raspberry martinin look awesome too. One time this summer they had an awesome sounding specialty pizza that had pears (or apples?) and gorgonzola and some other good stuff. LOVE happy hours and dueling pianos there!

  13. Before we were married, my hubby and I would go to Bonfire on Grand every other Sunday for dinner at the bar. We became regulars and got to know the bar staff. It was so much fun! We would order a pizza and an entree to split. Yummmm! Think we need to head back for a reunion :)

  14. I love Bonfire! I go to school a block away from Grand & Victoria so I have spent many a happy hour there.
One of my favorite memories is a night at dueling pianos one June (still referred to by my bffs and I as the 'best night ever'). We got a big table right next to the pianos, had a few (and then a few more) drinks, sang along, and had an amazing time. I love Bonfire!

  15. I love Bonfire Jenna! Many fun memories with friends there. One of my favorites is being asked to be a personal attendant for a good friend's wedding while having lunch at Bonfire. Although there weren't any dueling pianos, it was still a great experience!

  22. I can't say that there is one particular visit to Bonfire that stands out, but I definitely have fond memories of going there with coworkers after work a few years back. The memories are bittersweet because we have all since gone in different directions. They were a really fun group!

  23. Let's see...I think it would have to be the time we told the dueling piano guys that you and Langer got engaged that night, which you did not and that Kristin came out of the closet, which she also did not, nor needs to! :)
